Executive Home Detox exhibits at ASAM 2024

— Executive Home Detox® had the good fortune of exhibiting at the American Society of Addiction Medicine Conference (ASAM). The ASAM conference was held April 4^th to April 7^th in Dallas, Texas this year at the impressive Gaylord Texan Resort and Conference Center.  ASAM is a distinguished medical society that encompasses more than 7,500 physicians, clinicians, and related professionals who specialize in addiction medicine. There were over 2000 attendees at this year’s conference.

Michele Carrick, LiCSW and Kristie W. RN, CARN, assisted the founder of Executive Home Detox®,  Bill Carrick as they were kept busy sharing information with the many physicians and allied health professionals in attendance. We were privileged to reconnect with many old acquaintances and colleagues as well as meet many new contacts that further expanded our network of resources.

Innovations in Addiction Medicine and Science

The theme of the conference this year was Innovations in Addiction Medicine and Science. Many innovations have evolved over the past few years, especially in the area of medication assisted therapy for opiate dependence. The use of microdosing and macrodosing buprenorphine is an innovation about to go mainstream. The use of low dose ketamine has is also knocking on mainstream medicine for uses in mental health and addiction. And the use of psilocybins continue to be of interest. In addition to innovations, Michele, Kristie and Bill were able to reinforce the tried and true alcohol detox protocols for clients being treated on an outpatient basis in the comfort of their homes.

EHD, the oldest and most experienced home detox program in the US, was again the only home detox program exhibiting at ASAM.  EHD first exhibited at this conference in 2010. We have had the privilege of exhibiting in Dallas, Washington DC, Baltimore, San Francisco,  and San Diego.  We will be exhibiting again in 2025 at Denver, Colorado.
